I’m excited to announce that I am cohosting a photography workshop this fall. Jen Rogers at Wild Horse Photo Safaris contacted me about putting something together. Her thought was we could go out to the range for a couple of days and then do some Blacksmith/Farrier and Western Equine photoshoots for a couple of days. I thought it was a great idea! I am thrilled to have the opportunity to take people out to the wild horses so they can experience what I do. And Jen is the best when it comes to getting to know the horses and their stories.
We are only taking four people each week. We wanted to make it as one-on-one as possible so everyone who comes will get as much instruction as they can.
After we photograph the wild horses for a couple of days, we will come to my house, and I will have my barn set up with strobes to take photos of horses and turn them into fine art pieces. I love working with light and getting eye-catching, moody images! Attendees will be able to use the strobes to create their own images.
During the workshop, we will focus on equine photo shoots with horses on location. The main goal is to help you enhance your equine photography skills and learn how to capture the beauty of horses on camera. If you’re looking for an adventure and a chance to improve your equine photography, this workshop is perfect for you!
The last day will be back in my barn, where a working farrier will make handmade horseshoes in an authentic coal forge. Picture burning hot steel, getting images of the smoke rolling off of the horse’s foot while setting the hot shoe. This session is perfect for practicing getting those up-close detail shots!
That afternoon, we will end the workshop in my gallery by reviewing the images from the weekend, working on editing, and discussing how to turn the images into fine art.
As a special thank you to my valued email subscribers, I’m offering you an exclusive opportunity to join the workshop before it’s open to the public. I know many of you share my passion for photography, and I couldn’t think of a better way to show my appreciation.
Contact Jen to book the trip At Wild Horse Photo Safaris. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out and ask one of us.
I will be unavailable and out of service from this Thursday, May 2nd, to Monday, May 6th. But Jen said she would be available to answer any questions. Or I will respond to emails when I am back.

WOW You got it made.
