New Year

I hope everyone has had an enjoyable holiday. Mine has been laid back for the most part. I’ve spent time with some family and a few friends. Traditionally, the days leading up to Christmas around here are nothing short of chaos. My wife owns a commercial embroidery business. We have a shop on our property that she runs it out of, and it’s all hands on deck this time of year to help her make sure all the orders are out the door on time before Christmas. That means me, too. I’m a mean embroidery machine operator when called upon! She’s one of the hardest-working humans I’ve ever met! So when it’s all over she will take the week off between Christmas and New Year’s to catch her breath. But I did talk her into helping me one day to put my gallery together and hang pictures. I had a busy fall and missed the boat this year on getting ready to sell prints for Christmas. But I have some new prints I will be releasing around the first of February, and I will be having my first open house for the new gallery space the weekend before Valentine’s Day. I’m excited to have everyone over who wants to come and see the prints in person. I can’t believe how much more impact they have in person. After renting the space at the Monarch last year, I realized how much I enjoy having the prints displayed and talking with people about them. More info on that to come. The gallery will be a work in progress. I have never been good at or even had an opinion about how to decorate a house. I have no style. A house has always been a place for me to shower and sleep. and I have never spent much time thinking about it up to this point in my life. But now that I have this space, I seem to have more of an opinion about it, and my wife is not happy. She is used to me staying out of things. Haha. I tried getting her to get in the pics with me, but she refused; she thinks social media is ridiculous and doesn’t feel the need to participate. I don’t blame her, but I’ll talk her into it one day! Thank you to everyone who supports my photography!! It’s the fuel that feeds the fire
